PRICING
Reasonably priced photography in the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia area
I tailor my pricing to the needs of each client. I think it is really a disservice to look at these prices and decide whether or not you should work with me, because nothing is set in stone and so much goes into the costs of a creative project.
What follows are basic prices and services to give you an idea of a starting point of me taking photos and providing them. You can choose to add additional services such as more slide shows, rush image processing, locations, or even additional photographers for events and weddings.

EVENTS
Events start at $725 for up to two hours of coverage. After the event you receive all full resolution digital photos in a password protected album. Options include additional photographers, slide show, same day or rapid delivery, step and repeat, and other specialty options.
A flat fee of $200 is added for rush processing and delivery of photos in under 48 hours for events.

INDIVIDUALS, FAMILY, MATERNITY & KIDS PORTRAITS
Portrait sessions are about one hour on location.
For most Family, Maternity & Kids Portrait Sessions I charge $375 as a base rate to shoot on location at your home or a local venue within about 60 minutes of Capitol Hill, Washington, DC.
A portrait session includes five edited photographs of your choice. You can purchase single photos for $44 each, a set of five photos for $186 per set, and/or you can buyout all the photos for a single additional payment of $296. A flat fee of $200 is added for rush processing photos in under 48 hours for Family & Kids Portraits.
For portrait sessions over 5 people there is a $36 charge per additional person, including pets who whether dogs, cats, snakes, rabbits, hamsters sugar gliders, birds or something else, you are welcome to bring along. The reason for this fee is that additional people impact the overall flow of the photoshoot and my editing time.

MINI SESSIONS
Mini sessions are limited in their time and scope. Usually only 15 minute long, we work through a few poses quickly. Mini sessions are usually advertised on my website.
At various times of the year, I offer mini sessions which are typically organized around a special location, seasonal event or theme (e.g. pumpkin patches, sunflower fields, fruit harvests, summer fountains in Washington, DC, the gardens surrounding the Supreme Court, Capitol Hill in the fall, foliage at Sky Meadows, Christmas tree sessions for holiday cards, peak bloom for cherry blossoms, peak foliage, etc.).
In case you want to request a mini session, my mini sessions require 3+ clients to justify doing them, so get together with a group of families from school, sports teams, work, religious organizations, etc. Chances are that if you want a mini session, your friends do, too!
Depending on the amount of styling and location permit costs, mini sessions can often be less expensive than a regular session but are limited in time and the number of photos. If you have a group of people you would like to include in mini sessions, such as for a mom group, school group, several families, or several couples, I am happy to help facilitate this and find it a great way to have fun together while capturing some wonderful memories.

WEDDINGS AND ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS
Wedding coverage begins at $3200 for me to photograph your event by myself for up to 4 hours. If you book a wedding with, your engagement session is included at no additional charge. Because weddings are complex and personal events, I tailor my pricing to each wedding client rather than offering packages.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Engagement sessions are included if you purchase wedding coverage. Engagement sessions that are not part of a wedding package use the same pricing as a portrait session, which is $375 for a session fee that includes five edited photographs of your choice. Each additional photograph is $35, $125 for a set of five photographs, and/or you can buyout the photos for an additional $275.

HEADSHOTS
Start a conversation, break the ice, and show off your personality with carefully crafted headshots. In my headshot sessions, I provide direction, we shoot photos, we review and select favorite photos together, and we repeat until you get the look you like. My photos are lightly retouched before delivery to an online gallery.
Headshots are traditionally taken with a white (high key), black (low key), or gray backdrop. They can be conveniently taken on-site in a conference room or even a hallway at your office or place of work, in a studio space, or even outside on a patio or side-walk due to social distancing. The location depends on your needs.
In some instances environmental headshots or portraits are appropriate, such as a headshot showing the National Mall. In other instances, using props such as an American flag might produce the image you desire. Sometimes a texture or particular color might be used to match your print or website design or other marketing materials.
Headshot sessions start at $250 and includes unlimited wardrobe changes, unlimited background changes, and no time limit. A session includes 2 fully edited photographs that you choose, and each additional photo is $105.

SOCIAL MEDIA FOR BUSINESSES
Businesses often need social media photography and I support this through either single shoots or through more reasonably priced social media contracts for repeat shooting.
To make social media support more affordable over the longer term needs of a business, I offer social media contract photoshoots which reduce the monthly fees and provide updated photos on a month-to-month basis. These contracts are used to provide photographs for use in any marketing that suits your business. The amount of photos and locations is determined on a per contract basis. Each social media photoshoot is about an 1-2 hours in duration and usually performed once or twice per month.
Social media contracts start at $425 per month with a minimum of 4-months commitment.
A single, one-off photoshoot for social media starts at $725 for two hours of work.
High end editing and compositing is an example of additional services that can be purchased, as well as purchasing RAW images for graphic design. RAW images can be purchased individually or as a package.
